These words describe what Tina Dean Designs does. From upcycling plastic bags into plarn to hand crochet fashionable totes and purses, to upcycling VHS tape for that fabulous clutch, and beautiful winter accessories with traditional yarns, I am happy to show you my expanding collection.
So many people come to a website with the idea that items for sale are in never-ending supply, likely shipped from overseas. At Tina Dean Designs, I create everything by hand. No factory production here! Preparing plarn for my eco-friendly, upcycled line is a time-intensive process. See more about making plarn on my About page. Unfortunately, my kids have gotten bored with helping me prep materials, so it's all on me. :-)
My hope is that people will understand that something that's artisan-made is worth the wait. In today's society of instant gratification, that may be a bit difficult, but I'm confident that my products will be worth the wait to those women who truly want something that's not only eco-friendly, but also one-of-a-kind (because handcrafted items are never exactly alike).
